Nine years. That’s how long it took for my son and daughter-in-law to conceive a child.

A whole lot of love, and a little bit of science, and they were finally pregnant.

I remember it so vividly. November 1, 2023, my son and daughter-in-law called and said they were going to stop by for a minute.

They pulled up, got out of the car, and handed me a photo in a Walgreen’s photo folder. I opened it and there was a picture with a message on it that read “This is not a trick, we are getting a little treat, Baby Freeman, Summer 2024″

My heart leapt, I screamed and cried, well, wailed really, with sheer excitement.
